When we price up a house clearance, we do it by volume. The amount of stuff to clear is the biggest factor contributing to cost. When we have the cost worked out we then look at trying to get the contents of the property to pay as much of the cost as possible.
We do this by giving a cash value to contents in the property and adding up the total. This total is then taken off the cost of the clearance.
Don’t get rid of anything yourself until you have had a quote from us. We recently did a house clearance and they had made a start clearing the property themselves. They had a large skip outside. We priced up the job and then reduced the cost by about 30% because of the value of goods in the property. We then looked at the skip and noticed some items in there that had a value. We pulled out some items and reduced the cost by a further £100 with stuff they had thrown away!
